An office with an ethereal sense of home with a few different and unique employees with curious characteristics- that is my work place from the Human resource point of view. If I follow the hierarchy, I should start from the COO which we usually pronounce as “Koooooo”- a highly dedicated and intellectual person who observes more than speaking. I used to wonder at his observant nature until I found out that he had his education in psychology!!! Oops! How could I not mention Cherian Sir with his branded laugh. It is contagious and every time he laughs, I couldn’t stop my laugh even though I couldn’t make out why he is laughing. A person with lot of dedication and a funny bone, Cherian Sir is very much attached to Jacob Sir, as I understand. In fact, I felt that both of them are connected with a “laugh string”. Jacob Sir resembles my Dad in both appearance and attitude. He is a very nice and sincere person who has excellent people skills and an excellent liking for food.
Veena mam, our HR administrator, who hides her charming face behind a spectacle, a perfect mix of serious and sensible person; Nisha mam with her innocence and sweet smile brightens the front office; Our Sisu (System Administrator) sunil chettan who is very friendly constitute the other senior colleagues amongst us. Susan mam, who ushers in the chillness of air condition during our lunch time with jokes along with her eye catching dressing style and the senior most person Gopi sir who seldom comes upstairs are part of my office too. Binu sir, with whom I never had a word with and the DCians who were recruited with me- Geethu (the charming girl), Sreekanth (the junior ‘ baba Amte’ as cherian sir calls him, or ‘gentleman’ as I address him), Anish (the techie guy) doesn’t make the map complete. Our chechy, who supplies us with customized coffee and tea is the main encouragement for work. When we get our afternoon tea, we know ‘ wow, the office time is almost over’ and the forenoon coffee is a reminder that ‘ wow, it is almost lunch time’. But I doooooo like my work (a little less than the tea, to be frank,ha ha).
